Airborne Particles of the California Central Valley Alter the Lungs of Healthy Adult Rats

Rats exposed to fine and ultrafine particles in the air (comparable to the air on a bad day in Fresno, Calif.) suffered lung damage. Fine particles have a diameter less than 2.5 micrometers and ultrifine particles have a diameter less than 0.1 micrometers.
