Cockroaches Cited as Big Cause of Asthma

Abstract:

Describes a study claiming to reveal that cockroach parts are responsible for the increase in asthma that began to become obvious 15 years ago. This is a typical "blame the victim" approach to disease. Asthma is an auto-immune disease, and the unanswered question is, why are people's immune system reacting more now than they were, say, 50 years ago. It seems unlikely that there are more cockroaches in big cities today than there were in the past.
